Sawyer held that the due process rights of the Fourteenth Amendment are relative to their context, in this case the special economy and needs of the state of Nevada. Because the state itself is engaged in the gambling business and its people depend so heavily on it, it must, of necessity, go to great lengths to protect its welfare by keeping the wrong kind of people out of gambling.

Some of the places in Las Vegas today are really controlled by the Mafia and we know this because we see some of their muscle men around. ~3 This is an incredible statement when one stops to consider that the front man in the case of Siegel was said to have been responsible for some 20-50 murders, depending on whose account you accept.
