Avoid painting over the sky reflections and distant hill reflections in the water. Step 13: Place Reflected Colors in Water Place the orange, red, yellow, and light green reflection colors in the water directly underneath the trees of those colors. Use the same colors you used to paint the foliage and keep your strokes vertical. Again, avoid painting over the pink and blue sky reflections in the near foreground of the water.
