In 1976, she decided it was time to move on and took a job with Goudchaux’s department store in its advertising department. She had not done a bad job of raising her son by herself. Although money was tight at times, she did her best to make sure that Sean had everything he needed. And when he earned extra money, he would buy her books to add to her collection. By now, he was well versed in the classics, and he knew that reading books pleased his mother. He liked to please her, and she him. They depended on each other for everything, and Yvonne was very proud of the young man Sean was becoming.
