Access: generally open. T his is one of the finest fifteenth-century town churches in Wales, comprising an aisled nave, south-west tower, chancel and Lady chapel.
1674, by Silvanus Crue, a Wrexham goldsmith, whose brasses can be seen in several north Wales churches. The epitaph is charming. PH 31. LLANELIEU (St Ellyw), formerly Church in Wales, now in the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches Powys (B) Location: by itself on a side road off the A479, 1 mile east of Talgarth. The furnishings are largely contemporary and comprise a simple pulpit of 1780, domestic settles instead of pews, altar rails and a gallery along the north wall reached by a staircase at the west end. There is a crude medieval font of uncertain date. The interior was insensitively carpeted, covering the stone flags, in 1991.
